Public API and Data Use
2026-10-11.2 · 2026-10-11
The versioned public API allows documented read-only access to source-attributed earthquake catalogs, service status, region metadata, thresholded community counts and resource-directory links. No API key is currently required. No private contacts, messages, employee records, raw motion traces or exact sensor locations are licensed for public access.
Preserve provider identity, attribution and upstream licenses. USGS public event data and EMSC/SeismicPortal CC BY 4.0 datasets retain their source rights; normalization is not a claim of original measurement or endorsement. Keep revisions, unknown values and collection timestamps accurate. OpenStreetMap data remains subject to ODbL where applicable. Do not present duplicate provider records as independent scientific confirmation.
Respect documented rate limits, cache results, honor Retry-After and avoid circumventing address or tenant restrictions. PBS can proportionately restrict abusive traffic. Public access does not provide an uptime SLA, advance warning guarantee, rescue dispatch or rights to restricted third-party trademarks. Contact PBS before high-volume or negotiated commercial service.
You are responsible for truthful downstream presentation, lawful processing of any information you combine with the API, and your own user-facing notices. Do not represent TELURICO as a validated safety-critical warning provider or disclose private records through an integration. Compatible fields may be added in v1; breaking changes require a new version. The lawful business provisions in the Terms apply.
