Get your bearings

Choose an area and read recent source-reported earthquakes. Your browsing area is a preference, not a claim about your location.

Stay connected by choice

Use chat on an ordinary day. When you choose to check in, select recipients and send your current update. A received status means the app fetched it, not that someone read or acted on it.

Send an update

Different moments. Clear next steps.

Before an event

Review contact details, accept invitations, save useful resources and practice the plan together.

When you feel shaking

Take protective action and follow local guidance. Open TELURICO when it is appropriate to look for information or contact your people.

Afterward

Check the source and time of an event, share a voluntary update and contact people through the channels you agreed on. No reply can simply mean no connection.

Early-warning goal · not operational yet

An earthquake has started. A warning may travel ahead of the shaking.

Electronic messages can travel faster than seismic waves. A system that detects an earthquake quickly enough may give people farther away a few seconds to take protective action. It cannot predict an earthquake before it starts.

Conceptual sequence · not a live warning or a timing guarantee

What TELURICO can do today

Today’s notifications report published earthquakes or request a voluntary check-in. They do not predict wave arrival. Native apps and phone-sensing research provide a starting point; the validated detection and early-warning delivery system still needs to be built and tested.

Understand the early-warning plan

TELURICO does not predict earthquakes or operate a public early-warning service. Information and messages may be delayed or missed. Follow local authorities; do not wait for the app to take protective action.
