For people: the intended alert would help you act before strong shaking at your location, when enough warning time is available.
How it works
Our goal: warn people before strong shaking reaches them.
Earthquake early warning is central to TELURICO’s purpose. We are building toward location-based alerts for people and teams, alongside the information, connection and preparedness tools available today.
Early-warning goal · not operational yet
An earthquake has started. A warning may travel ahead of the shaking.
Electronic messages can travel faster than seismic waves. A system that detects an earthquake quickly enough may give people farther away a few seconds to take protective action. It cannot predict an earthquake before it starts.
- 1
Detect the event
Rapid measurements from an authorized warning source or a validated sensor network.
- 2
Assess the affected area
Estimate expected shaking and arrival time, with uncertainty.
- 3
Deliver a local alert
Reach eligible phones and relevant company sites while useful time remains.
- 4
Take protective action
Use the time available to follow local earthquake guidance.
Warning time depends on distance, detection and delivery delays. People close to the source may have no advance warning. Alerts can be missed or arrive after shaking begins; no fixed number of seconds is promised.
For companies: the intended alert would identify potentially affected sites and support the organization’s practiced protective procedures. A site location is not an employee’s current location.
What TELURICO can do today
Today’s notifications report published earthquakes or request a voluntary check-in. They do not predict wave arrival. Native apps and phone-sensing research provide a starting point; the validated detection and early-warning delivery system still needs to be built and tested.
If you are indoors during shaking, stay inside and drop, cover and hold on. Do not rush outside while the building is shaking. Follow local authorities and your practiced protective procedures. USGS earthquake safety

Our design commitments · delivery and scientific validation still required
A warning you can understand. A record you can examine.
This is the standard we are building toward: useful alerts, clear evidence and practical follow-through for your people.
Know why you were alerted
See whether an input came from TELURICO detection research or an authorized external warning source. Later USGS and EMSC reports provide context and comparison; a catalog match alone does not validate our detection.
Know what your phone can receive
An Alerts home and an explicit practice test help you understand readiness. A connection test, a provider acceptance and a device receipt are different results; none alone guarantees the next warning.
Act first, reconnect afterward
Protective action comes first. When it is safe, use your private circle or a workplace check-in to reconnect. Company site planning stays separate from personal messages and location.
01 · Understand the published event
TELURICO brings in earthquake records from seismic providers such as USGS and EMSC. The explorer keeps provider identity, event time and freshness visible. A catalog record can arrive after shaking and can be revised.
02 · Connect people with consent
A personal account lets you build a mutually accepted circle. You choose when to talk and which people receive each update. Your contacts and your company workspace serve different purposes.
03 · Make preparation practical
Households can keep a contact card and saved resources. Teams can organize sites, plan links, tasks and drills. Small actions before an event make the platform useful on ordinary days.
04 · Explore voluntary phone sensing
Native research work is intended to summarize motion from eligible, consenting devices under suitable conditions, including stationary and charging checks. Research sensing is currently disabled; the website does not turn visitors’ phones into a live sensor network.
05 · Compare signals responsibly
Research would compare observations across devices and locations, apply quality checks and examine possible correlations. A motion signal or research candidate is not a confirmed earthquake and never silently becomes a catalog event.
06 · Validate before expanding the promise
The longer-term ambition is to study whether a community network can contribute useful earthquake detection and warning. Public warning would need independent scientific validation, operating evidence and a separately authorized release. It is not available today.
